jody reynolds - endless sleep Jody Reynolds had a million-seller in 1958 with "Endless Sleep." The single became a forerunner of death rock classics such as "Tell Laura I Love Her" from Ray Peterson and "Teen Angel" by Mark Dinning. Reynolds charted for the last time that same year with a number titled "Fire of Love." Despite the lack of a string of chart successes, his one big seller was enough to ensure Reynolds' membership in the Rockabilly Hall of Fame, which inducted him in 1999. In conjunction with the honor, Tru Gems Records issued a double-CD set of Reynolds' recordings, featuring guest performances by Bobbie Gentry, Jimmy Bryant, and others. Reynolds was born in Colorado in 1932, but he was raised in Oklahoma. He learned how to play guitar during his early teen years, when he gravitated to the Western swing sounds of Hank Thompson, Bob Wills, and Eddy Arnold. In 1952, he founded a group called the Storms. Within three years, he was in Texas, where he played rockabilly, caught Roy Orbison's live act, and enjoyed the music of such performers as Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley. Herb Montei, a Hollywood music publisher, turned down Reynolds when he heard his first demo submissions. After hearing "Endless Sleep," however, Montei agreed to manage the young rockabilly singer and he arranged for Reynolds to record the song for Demon Records. Reynolds had written the song in a single afternoon in 1956 in Yuma, AZ. Some of Reynolds' songs, including "Endless Sleep," give a writing credit to Dolores Nance, but the name is a pseudonym that Reynolds used. Reynolds and the Storms later recorded a honky tonk sounding instrumental, "Thunder," for Indigo. The flip side was "Tarantula." Reynolds also released "Stormy" on Smash Records, which was backed by "Don't Jump." For Brent, he recorded "Raggedy Ann," which was produced by Alan Freed. "Fire of Love" has been featured in a few films, including Doctor Chance in France. Reynolds remained with the Storms throughout the 1960s. He left the limelight during the 1970s. He settled in Palm Springs, CA, where he sells real estate. ~ Linda Seida, All Music Guide Etiketler:[] [pop] [rock] |

jody breeze ft. rick ross - work Best Kept Secret 3 Jody Breeze's BiographyJody Breeze (born Jacoby White in 1984 in Griffin, Georgia) is an American member of the rap group Boyz N Da Hood. Along with Big Gee, Big Duke, and Gorilla Zoe. He now has a solo deal with Jazze Pha and Block Entertainment on Bad Boy South. During his senior year of high school, Jody Breeze found himself in a string of uncomfortable situations. The Griffin, Georgia native's grades were slipping, so he couldn't play his favorite sport of basketball. He also became a father. Realizing that he needed to make a change, Jody turned to one of his other hobbies Jody redirected his focus to rapping and entered a rap battle at a car show in nearby Macon, Georgia. With lyrics that overflowed with sidesplitting humor, playeristic realism and gruff gangsterism, Jody slaughtered the competition. Industry veteran Noonie, who works with producer Jazze Pha, was in Macon and was blown away by Jody's microphone skills and lyrical polish. Noonie approached Jody and the two hit it off. Within hours, Noonie was driving Jody to Atlanta to meet Jazze Pha. That night, Jody attended the album release party for T.I., where he met with Jazze Pha, as well as such rap heavyweights as P.Diddy, Lil Jon, 8 Ball & MJG. "My whole life changed in one day" as Jody recalls. "Within a blink of an eye. It was that fast. I thought I was dreaming, for real. I could have went home happy then." But fortunately for hip-hop fans, Jody's story gets much deeper. Less than three weeks after the T.I. party, Jody moved to Atlanta to begin recording his debut album with Jazze Pha, who, like Noonie, was impressed by Jody's natural talent. "Jody is pure hood lyricism at its finest," Jazze says. "I think he truly just defines the views of a real young street hustler. A lot of rappers rap, but he gets it. He understands what makes rap work." Jazze's words are backed up by Jody Breeze's debut album, A Day In The Life Of Jody Breeze. The album features production from Jazze Pha, Lil Jon & Mannie Fresh as well as guest appearances from Eightball, Trick Daddy, Sean Paul (Youngbloodz), Mannie Fresh, Juvenile, Slim Thug & Pastor Troy. Jody gives listeners a good introduction to his lifestyle on the flavorful "White Tee" produced by Jazze Pha, featuring Mannie Fresh on the chorus. This high-octane cut showcases Jody's uncanny ability to combine humor, a keen sense of detail and street life into songs that bounce as hard as they thump. His player side comes to light on "Stay Fresh", a clever play off of Floetry "Say Yes" and "Never Been With A Thug" where he devilishly proclaims that he's more single than a man on first base. Even though later he explains his player ways. He is confident that it will appear equally to both males and females. "I think the ladies are going to like it because I'm telling the truth," he says. "I got the song from one of my ex-chicks. She was on that so I made a song about it." Jody then teams with Trick Daddy and Sean Paul on the explosive "AK's & Chevrolets." A gritty ode to life in the trap, while Jody & Pastor Troy deliver a lyrical knock-out on the ultra-hyper, Lil Jon produced track "Take It Outside." Showing his artistic reach, Jody also teams with Eightball on the rock-inspired track "Ballin My Life Away." Growing up in Griffin, Georgia, a small rural town about 40 miles south of Atlanta, Jody always dreamed of being a star. But he thought his calling was basketball. In fact, even though he started rapping when he was about 7, he normally wrote poems and rap just to keep busy and to try to impress girls. But when his hoop dreams got derailed, Jody decided to use his love for such comedians as Bernie Mac, his first-hand knowledge of life in the Dirty South and his knack for writing stories and poems to his advantage. Within months, Jody took the fateful trip to the Macon car show. A star rapper was in the making. "Ever since I was a little kid, I felt like I was going to be on TV," Jody says. "Now that I finna be on TV, it's finna go down. For real." Now, Jody Breeze is ready to make his dream a reality. Get ready for hip-hop's newest and most interesting star. "People say they tired of people saying the same of things," Jody says. "Try to be different. Welcome to A Day In The Life Of Jody Breeze."
